Dr. Phil Golson

Dr. Phil Golson:
Dr. Phil Golson is President and Director of the Garden Route Arts, Communication and Education (GRACE, Inc.). He is also on the management team for Knysna Hope. A member of the KPS SGB, he was past Associate Professor of Music at Clearwater Christian College (FL) and past Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin. Other positions include Adjunct Lecturer at Viterbo University, and The University of South Carolina. He is currently serving as a doctoral advisor to the University of the Free State for Tuba in the Odeion Skool vir Musiek.
South African residencies include The University of Stellenbosch and Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. He has also helped train multinational classes of music officers at the Simonstown Navy Base and the Western Cape Army Band. Other experiences include Grade 5 through Matric level Choirs, Bands, private tutelage, ensembles, and theory tutelage. He has also helped organize and lead the Leisure Isle Carol Sing events, been a judge for the local Eiststedfodd festival, and performer at many local schools.
Currently he administers a music club at Knysna High School in music, and has also led drumming classes in the Canonkop/Concordia community. He developed a brass music training programme in Oudtshoorn and general music training in Hornlee.
